- Timed auction. The first bid at or above the reserve starts a 30 day clock. Outbid each other until it runs out.
- No sniping. A bid in the last 24 hours adds 24 hours.
- One payment. The winner pays once and keeps the spot for the life of the site. No renewal, no rate change, nobody can outbid you after close.
- Outbid, owe nothing. Only the winning bid is invoiced.

What an ad can be
- A name, one line, a link, and for sidebar units an optional 300 by 180 image. Set in the site's own type and colours, always tagged Ad.
- No scripts or tracking. Links carry
rel="sponsored". - Software, hardware, hosting, and tools that belong next to a Linux package directory. No gambling, adult, or token promotion.
- Any ad can be declined with a refund. Sponsoring never changes a listing, a rank, or a vote.
Common questions
Why an auction instead of a price list?
A small community site cannot honestly know what a slot is worth. Sponsors setting the price between themselves is fairer than guessing, and the reserve keeps it above what the slot costs to run.
What does "lifetime" mean?
For as long as the site is online, the ad stays in the same position with no renewal and no further charge. Treat it as the life of the site, not a fixed number of years.
How do I pay?
The winning bidder gets an invoice by email. The slot goes live once it is paid. For 90 day slots the next term is invoiced before it starts, and if you do not renew the slot simply reopens for bids.
Does sponsoring affect my package's listing or rank?
No. Listings come from the official repository and rankings come from reader votes. A sponsor slot is a separate, labelled unit.
