What is intel-lpmd?

Intel's Low Power Mode Daemon watches how busy your system is and, on light workloads like idling or basic browsing, steers work onto a more power-efficient subset of CPU cores to cut idle power draw, then restores full CPU capacity when demand rises. It runs quietly in the background as a systemd service and is configured and monitored through a companion command-line control tool or D-Bus, with no graphical interface.
