What is umu-launcher?

umu-launcher packages Valve's Proton compatibility tooling and the Steam Linux Runtime so any launcher, not just Steam, can run Windows games on Linux. Tools like Lutris, Heroic, and Bottles use it under the hood to set up the Wine prefix, pick a Proton version, and apply community game-specific fixes automatically.
