What is macbook12-spi-driver-dkms?
This DKMS package builds and installs the input driver for the SPI-connected keyboard and touchpad found in the 12-inch MacBook (2015+) and the 2016-2018 MacBook Pro (13-inch and 15-inch Touch Bar models). Basic keyboard and trackpad support has since been merged into the mainline Linux kernel, so today this package is mainly useful for its extras: Touch Bar support (with idle dimming), the ambient light sensor, and low-level packet tracing for debugging.
