What is qmk-hid?
qmk_hid is a command-line tool from Framework Computer for controlling QMK-firmware keyboards through their raw HID interface (the same protocol VIA uses), without needing special drivers or admin rights on Windows or Linux. It can adjust RGB and backlight settings, read device info, jump into bootloader mode for firmware updates, and reset EEPROM/VIA settings. It works with any QMK device but was built and tested specifically for Framework's keyboard modules.
